Oh man. I had an aol screen name pikablu187 back in the 90s. Made during that window when pikablu was the rumored name.

  2. shooby says:

I made it 15 seconds into the video. You don't have the voice for this. To sit almost 2 hours listening to that is unfathomable.

  3. Lord Adrian Richter says:

Actually, the games came out first, in February of '96. The TCG dropped in October of '96 with the anime dropping in April of '97.

  4. Emmalee Whittemore says:

pfffft- the Yoshi one, y'know, the one with the Dragonite– Did y'all see the name of who supposedly wrote that? J.Ester. Y'all, it says JESTER 😂 Idk why I found that so hilarious, heck, this video was made a year ago :'D But still, just a li'l thing I noticed.

  5. SPARTAN STONE83 says:

I actually played Conquest, one of my favorite. It was not much of a learning curve at all, I lost the game chip before I could play it all the way through but it was a truly good game. I recommend it.

  6. Nido says:

Well I'm kinda late to comment.. but I learned reading through playing Pokemon silver on my Gameboy color.. when I was 5y/o
The satanic influence on me.. how could they 🙁

  7. theRCenby says:

honestly I love this iceberg. it makes me feel nostalgic for things I haven't experienced before as I got into the games in 2012 when I was about 10 (soul silver being my first and fave to this day) and I didn't really watch the show back in the day. me and my brother collected cards before and we still do (tho we don't have our original collection from anything before 2010). we would play pretend as pokemon trainers with our toys and just look at our cards and he'd give me his doubles which is how my og card collection started.
I still have an original fat pikachu backpack that I took from my sister many years ago, but over time he lost his bag straps and cheeks and now he's just a plush in my room. I've had him since I was like 6 or something and I love it dearly. I don't know it's origins or where it's from though
    (edited for spelling corrections)

  8. Thrash says:

I dont think anybody who wasnt a kid during the release of gen 1 will never understand how big pokemon truely was. It was insanity the game was sold out, kids lucky enough to get it had swarms of kids watching over their shoulder amd you were instantly the coolest kid in school. It killed off every trend going during its time. Pogs were the biggest thing and overnight it was gone, everything was pokemon. It was just crazy

  9. Tristan Alain says:

When it comes to magazine cover with the weird pink Pokemon like a top…
    It's likely beta Hitmontop.
However, I prefer Yuriofwind's second theory. It's our worst fucking nightmare. Someone gave Clefairy a Fighting Type Evolution, a spinning one no less.

  10. Christopher Poucher says:

In the late 90s I heard if you caught chansey and raised it to 100 with no rare candy's. then beat the elite 4 its egg would hatch into togepi then oak would take you to bills secret garden. Lol

  11. Lord Chaos of the Chaos Kingdom says:

Pretty sure the Hex Maniac one is talking about the NPC that sells moomoo milk for inexplicable reasons

  12. Legendary Beanie says:

Messsage for YouTube admins if you put an advert that isn’t skippable after 5 seconds or tries to force 2 videos on me I will hit the little i Icon and report that to firstly skip it and secondly I really do find it appropriate. I refuse to pay for YouTube to skip ads given the asking price 😂

  13. Charlie Zelenowski says:

I swear. I caught a Mew from that truck.

I have people telling me it was not real but I remember catching it. This was before Youtube so I never watched someone else do it and got confused.

  14. progamer2290 says:

9:26 ditto is not found in the pokemon mansion in red a blue. you only find him there in yellow and fr/lg but not in red and blue.

you can also find ditto on Route 13, Route 14, Route 15, Route 23, inj red and blue and Cerulean Cave in all games

  15. MikeTheFKAlien says:

Smosh never removed ithe pokemon cover song It was dmca by nintendo, Which inspired smosh to make the second song that put them on the youtube map.

  16. Joshua Genal says:

When they're destroyed and stored as data, they die. They're recreated when you call on them. There's nothing inside the pokeball except the battery to store the energy and the machines that destroy, process, and create matter. The pokemon have no memory of the in-between nor the before. They aren't really alive. They're just ai. That's why pikachu doesn't want to go in, and pokemon that the trainers catch are suddenly totally cool with being slaves and forsaking their pokemon families. The originals don't exist anymore. You atomized them.

  17. yellowpete79 says:

Traded my Yellow version Pikachu to Gold. Used the thing that was similiar to Gameshark, made for Gold and Silver, taught it Surf and traded it back. It still followed me around.

  18. Alex Romeli says:

The levels thing you were saying was from the episode "School of Hard Knocks", the kids in that were all attending a prep school which made its pupils learn at what level Pokemon learnt their attacks. It was down with Pidgy.

  19. Gob Champ says:

I used to have a Japanese Misty’s tears in perfect condition. I had first edition black holo charizard, blastoise, mewtwo, garydos. Everything.
I took so much care with them.

One day my brother left his cards at school and the teacher called so I let him hold mine until he got to school the coming week to get them back— then he put my cards in his pocket… forgot they were there… and washed them all.

I’ve legitimately lost over a million dollars worth of Pokémon cards because of him. I still am pretty angry about it. He felt terrible as a child and even used glue sticks to glue the holographic cards on to other cards (we learned them that holographics don’t disintegrate in water weirdly enough)
And while the sentiment was sweet… the fact i would have held on to those cards and kept them… I would be so cash rich and my life would have changed.

I’m getting sad just thinking about it more so imma get back to watching the vid but when you mentioned Misty’s Tears i had to say something.

By the way, got that Misty’s Tears card from a card shop in Phoenix forever ago. I think I traded a dark charizard 1st edition for Misty, and a white star Here Comes Team Rocket at the time? I had two…

    Ughhhhhhhhh

  20. SodoKami says:

I believe the original Smosh Pokémon video was taken due to copyright or something like that. They even reference it in the 2010 remake video

  21. Rotten Burrito says:

I love the cards, they have such a beautiful art and it's worth it to learn how to play them. It's fun and involves a lot of strategy.
